Christina Appin, MD is currently a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She was born in Tampa, FL and graduated from the University of Florida. She received her medical degree from the University of South Florida. She completed a pathology (AP/CP) residency as well as neuropathology and molecular pathology fellowships at Emory University.
Dr. Appin was an assistant professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University for four years before deciding to become a postdoctoral scholar at UCSF to gain more research experience. Her main research interest is in gliomas, particularly IDH-wildtype glioblastoma.
Dr. Appin is a member of the Society for Neuro Oncology (SNO) and the American Association of Neuropathologists (AANP). She is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Neuropathology, and Molecular Genetic Pathology.
