Dr Vimoj J. Nair is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Radiation Oncology at the University of Ottawa; and a Clinician Investigator in the Clinical Epidemiology Program (CEP) at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). He also has consulting privileges as the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario. He specializes in neuro-oncology, pediatric radiation oncology, hematological cancers and GI and hepatobiliary cancers.
Following his radiation oncology residency from India, he pursued a neuro-oncology fellowship from Tata Memorial Hospital, India, the largest cancer hospital in Asia. He then completed a two year fellowship in Cyberknife and Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy from the University of Ottawa.
He also has completed a Master's Degree (MSc) in Clinical Trials from University of London, UK. He also has a Diploma in Computer Applications and a Professional Diploma in Clinical Research (PDCR).
After his fellowship from Ottawa, he served as a staff radiation oncologist at Prince Edward Island Cancer Treatment Centre and was an assistant professor at Dalhousie University, Halifax for 3 years.
Dr Nair has a keen interest in innovative medical research as well as the use of advanced radiation techniques in radiation oncology and functional radiosurgery. As a clinical investigator and a collaborator, he holds numerous peer-reviewed research grants focusing on innovative research in Oncology.
He enjoys teaching residents; as well as involves in outreach programs to teach trainees in the developing world.
Dr Nair also serves as the Chief Editor for the Canadian Association Of Radiation Oncology- Cureus Journal Academic Channel.
