Dr. Yao-Feng Li, a seasoned anatomic pathologist, has been dedicated to the field of neurology since 2008, with a special focus on brain tumor diagnostics. Mentored by the esteemed Professor Ben-Hsiung Du at the Academia Sinica, Dr. Li's passion for neuropathology has led to a career spanning over ten years marked by significant contributions to the diagnosis of brain tumors.
Embarking on advanced studies at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, Dr. Li worked on a pivotal four-year research project exploring focal cortical dysplasia (FCD). His research incorporated diverse methodologies, such as bioinformatics, quantitative immunohistochemistry, 3D brain tissue cultures, and advanced imaging techniques. His findings were published in the prestigious Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology journal, with one of his 3D images featured on the cover.
Upon his return to Taiwan in 2019, Dr. Li actively engaged with various medical societies. He led the Neuropathology Committee of the Taiwan Pathology Society and contributed significantly to Taiwan's brain bank initiative. Dr. Li is also known for his extensive lecturing, with multiple presentations to his credit in national and international forums.
Dr. Li's academic output is impressive, with 26 publications from 2020 to 2023, including high-impact factor articles as a first and corresponding author. His role in editorial activities for Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology showcases his dedication to disseminating quality research. With his experience and ongoing contributions, Dr. Li aims to further enrich the field of neuropathology.
