Dr. Naoki Kagawa M.D., Ph.D. was born in 1971 and is a graduate of Marugame High School, Faculty of Medicine (1991-1997), Graduate School of Medicine (2002-2006), Osaka University in Japan. He obtained his Doctor of Medical Science and Doctor of Philosophy doctor at Osaka University in Japan. He completed his residency and training with fellowships at Osaka University, Suita Municipal Hospital and National Osaka Hospital (National Osaka Medical Center). He also kept studying at National Center for Child Health and Development and Osaka Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
He has fifteen year’s experience in surgery, diagnosis and treatment about central nervous system tumors, including malignant brain tumors in adult and children and other pediatric neurosurgical diseases. He experienced chief of neurosurgical office, Osaka University with vigorous leadership about neurosurgical operations and clinical research. He also has great interest and support in basic and clinical research about malignant glioma and pediatric brain tumors.
He has some research project and fund about molecular diagnosis for brain tumor, cancer stem cell research, immunotherapy and molecular-targeting therapy for malignant CNS tumors, clinical trial for brain tumor and pediatric neurosurgical diseases.
He is a member of the Japan Neurosurgical Society and Japan Society for Neuro-Oncology, and also scientific committee in some academic society, such as Japanese Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery and Japan Neurological Society. He has some certifications about Japanese Board of Neurological Surgery, Japanese Board of Neuro-Endoscopy, Japanese Board of Cancer Therapy and Japanese Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery.
He was also awarded some prizes about molecular diagnosis about medulloblastoma from Japanese Society of Brain Tumor Pathology and immunotherapy pediatric malignant glioma and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma from ISPN. He now involves some projects about immunotherapy against malignant brain tumors and supervises young neurosurgeons about brain tumor surgeries and clinical research.
