Alayna Ernster, PhD, is currently a postdoctoral fellow on the NCI funded T32 Cancer Prevention and Control Training Grant in the Department of Social Sciences & Health Policy at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Florida in August 2022 with her Doctor of Philosophy in rehabilitation science. Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Ernster helped develop and implement the first research protocol at the University of Florida dedicated toward integrating the routine collection of patient-reported outcome data at the UF Health Neuro-Oncology Clinic. Dr. Ernster’s ultimate goal is to utilize her multi-disciplinary background to conduct translational, pragmatic research dedicated toward improving the provision of person-centered cancer care. She is particularly interested in rapid-cycle improvement projects that emphasize performance enhancement and continuous quality improvement to promote enhanced patient/provider outcomes at the organizational level.
