Brain Cancer Canada
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Jessica Soares, based in Toronto, ON, began her advocacy for equitable access to oral chemotherapy subsequent to the loss of her 39-year-old husband Paulo, to Glioblastoma Multiforme. Currently, she serves as the Ambassador Chair for Brain Cancer Canada.
Anita Angelini, based in Calgary, AB, serves on the Partnerships and Stakeholders Committee, and the Scientific Advisory Committee. She joined Brain Cancer Canada following the loss of her 52-year-old husband, Filippo, to Glioblastoma Multiforme.
Brain Cancer Canada, a 100% volunteer-driven and national charitable organization, started with a simple question:
What if, together, we could change outcomes for brain cancer patients?
Through the tremendous generosity and trust of our community, Brain Cancer Canada has raised over $1.7 million for brain cancer research and distributed funds to 13 research projects.
In 2022, BCC launched its first-ever DIPG matching gift campaign raising $50,000 in donations and matching the donations with another $50,000 to create a $100,000 research grant, awarded in May 2023, for DIPG.
Together, we can continue to make a difference.
Through our fund stewardship we ACCELERATE the exacting work of researchers, clinicians, and physicians.
The experiences of brain cancer patients and their loved ones reveal to us where more support is needed, be it in equitable access to front-line treatment, or the raising of awareness. We engage with, listen to, and ADVOCATE for them.
By submitting a research proposal through our RFP process, or by joining our team, you can help Brain Cancer Canada continue to TRANSFORM the outcomes for pediatric and adult brain cancer patients.
