Hirokazu Takami is Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery, The University of Tokyo Hospital, Japan. His focus of neurosurgical practice is malignant brain tumors and spine tumors, pedeatrics and adults, and special interests reside in white matter network structures and preservations of neurological functions in awake neurosurgery. His laboratory focuses are on genomic research in the field of pediatric/adult brain tumors, especially in the central nervous system germ cell tumors and gliomas. He has authored a number of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
Aside from the neurosurgical and basic research training in Tokyo University and National Cancer Center of Japan, he completed the international neurosurgery fellowship in Mayo Clinic Rochester in 2016-2018 and the neurooncology/skull base fellowship in Toronto University in 2018-2019.
