Makoto Ohno is a staff neurosurgeon of Department of Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology at National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. He earned medical degree from Kyoto University in 1998 and completed postgraduate training in Department of Neurosurgery at Kyoto University Hospital, and related hospitals. He obtained Ph.D. in the study of stem cell differentiation from Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine in 2007. He has engaged in brain tumor treatment and research at National Cancer Center Hospital since 2009. His main research interests include liquid biopsy using miRNA in malignant brain tumor, microenvironment of gliomas focusing on 2HG, and advanced diagnostic MR imaging.
