BRIEF
Dr. Kuo-Chen Wei received his medical degree at Chung Shan Medical College, Taiwan in 1985. He completed the residency of neurosurgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch in 1993. He is currently the vice superintendent, the New Taipei City Municipal Tucheng Hospital, the director of the Neuroscience Research Center, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and the professor of Department of Neurosurgery, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and School of Medicine, Chang Gung University, Taiwan.
Dr. Wei has started his research career after returning from a neuro-oncology research training at the Brain Tumor Research Center of the University of California, San Francisco in 2001. He has great interests in the intraoperative monitoring in clinical neurosurgery, also devoted himself in researches of the biosignature and the drug delivery systems for malignant brain tumors, especially applying navigation-guided focused ultrasound to opening blood-brain barrier in human. He has been involved in several clinical trials of novel target therapies and immunotherapies for gliomas. To date, he had published more than 160 translational and clinical research papers with great scientific values.
