Anahita Fathi Kazerooni is an instructor (faculty) in the Translational Research Imaging Unit of the D3b Center, the Division of Neurosurgery at CHOP & Department of Neurosurgery of the University of Pennsylvania. She is leading research on applying artificial intelligence (AI) methods to medical images as well as multi-omic analysis for diagnosis/prognosis of pediatric patients with brain cancers.
The goal of Anahita’s research is to potentially support clinical decision making and provide upfront personalized treatment plans for the pediatric patients with brain tumors. She is responsible for mentoring other researchers, and planning and leading the pediatric radiogenomics projects.
Before joining D3b as a faculty, Anahita was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Biomedical Image Computing and Analytics (CBICA), UPenn, working on radiomics and radiogenomics applications to adult brain tumors, including GBM and meningioma. She started collaborating with D3b in February 2021 on translating the radiogenomics analysis methods in adult brain tumors to pediatric MRI data.
