Giles Robinson is an American Board of Pediatric certified Pediatric Hematologist and Oncologist and an Associate Member in the Division of Neuro-Oncology in the Department of Oncology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He earned his medical doctorate degree at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University (Providence, RI). His pediatric residency was at the Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver and pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship was at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He joined the faculty of St Jude in 2011 and he has focused on improving the survival and reducing the treatment-related morbidity of children with central nervous system tumors. He believes that in order to do this one has to fundamentally understand these complex and challenging diseases. As such he has studied the genomics of CNS tumors and tried to use this knowledge to better therapy; authoring a number of publications that have uncovered the molecular heterogeneity of these diseases, and launching innovative clinical trials that tailor and target therapy according to the molecular makeup of these tumors.
