Dr. Michael Garcia graduated with Honors from Stanford with a degree in Biological Sciences while becoming a 3-time All-American and NCAA Division 1 national champion in Track & Field. At Stanford he was awarded the Firestone Award for excellence in research. He also earned a master’s degree at Stanford in Biological Sciences with a focus on immunology. He graduated with his M.D. from Harvard Medical School. There he was named a Linnane Scholar for academic excellence and community leadership. Dr. Garcia completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of California, San Francisco where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Garcia has experience in all aspects of clinical radiation oncology, including the most advanced technologies such as stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiation therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, and brachytherapy. Dr. Garcia’s clinical honors include the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award for his research in improving symptom management for patients with cancer, the UCSF Patient Care Fund Award for patient education, and he has been named a Top Doctor by Phoenix Magazine Dr. Garcia has authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications in the realms of radiosurgery, medical education, and patient symptom management. He has written multiple textbook chapters in the field of oncology. Dr. Garcia has been an investigator in multiple clinical studies in the brain tumor space. In addition to treating patients with all types of cancers he also serves as the chief medical officer of a medical technology company aimed at improving outcomes and quality of life for patients with brain tumors. Dr. Garcia strives to provide the most effective treatments and prioritizes the quality of life, values, and individual goals of each and every patient.
