Dr. Whitney Pope, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Neuroradiology and Director of Brain Tumor Imaging at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University and his MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He did his radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Pope has over 150 publications focusing on genomic and physiologic imaging markers of treatment susceptibility and response in glioblastoma, including the first report of imaging of bevacizumab-treated human glioma patients, and the non-invasive detection of 2-HG by MRS in IDH mutated gliomas. He has vast experience in image acquisition interpretation and data analysis for both glioma patients and small animal glioma models. Dr. Pope was previously a Board of Directors member for the Society for Neuro-Oncology, and is an associate editor of the journal Neuro-Oncology. He also co-chairs the American Society of Neuroradiology’s Genomics Imaging Group.
