I am an Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery and Neurology and the Wendy Olson Wood-Smith Endowed Professor at the University of California San Francisco. I am the clinical director of Neuro-Oncology at UCSF. I also serve as the Education and Training Liaison for the Neurologic Oncology Program in the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, as well as director of residency training in Neuro-Oncology for Neurology and Neurosurgery residents.
I am an academic neuro-oncologist involved in clinical care, clinical research and teaching. I have a PhD neuroscience as well as training in clinical trial development, implementation and analysis. As a member of the Division of Neuro-Oncology at UCSF, I have been involved in investigator-initiated, sponsored and multi-institutional consortium studies. With my strong background in basic science I am particularly interested in the development of phase I and II clinical trials testing novel treatment strategies for brain tumor patients, specifically low and high grade gliomas as well as meningioma.
