r. Prakash Ambady, Medical Director for Providence Neuro Oncology Program, cares for people with primary tumors of the brain and spine as well as metastatic brain tumors. Dr. Ambady also leads the Virtual Second Opinion program. "As a neuro-oncologist, I work with a dedicated team that strives to offer a high standard of care, in addition to unique state-of the-art translational and clinical trial options to meet the needs and goals of our patients."
Neuro Oncology is a highly-specialized area of medicine that cares for the whole person and prioritizes quality of life. "We will work with you to help make informed decisions that will facilitate your physical healing, while providing emotional support to you and your loved ones."
Our Program's philosophy of care, as described by Dr. Ambady: "We are not in the business of treating brain tumors. We are in the business of treating people who have a brain tumor diagnosis. This perspective helps me better understand our goals of care. We place emphasis on transparency, mutual respect and humanity. You are not alone. Our care team is committed to supporting you and your loved ones throughout this journey. Our core team consists of dedicated nurse practitioners, oncology nurses, social workers, medical assistants and administrative staff. We look forward to working together to navigate the fight against brain tumors."
