Dr. Erik Williams is Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Miami and a member of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He graduated summa cum laude from Carleton College with a major in Mathematics. He subsequently graduated from University of Virginia School of Medicine. Thereafter, he trained in Anatomical Pathology and Neuropathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and underwent Molecular Genetic Pathology Fellowship training at Harvard Medical School, with primary affiliation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He also completed Dermatopathology Fellowship training at University of California San Francisco, followed by clinical instructorship and postdoctoral research. He has published extensively in cancer genomics, with nearly 50 papers, particularly in the areas of HPV-related neoplasia, health disparities, melanoma and sarcoma genomics.
