Their current goal is to understand how glioblastoma (GBM) cell indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase 1 (IDO; IDO1) increases immunosuppressive T-reg infiltration, suppresses the immune response, and decreases overall survival in mouse models and human subjects with glioblastoma. His current project, in collaboration with a chemist, is to identify a small molecule using Proteolysis Targeting Chimera technology (PROTAC) that targets and degrades IDO1 to inhibit its enzyme dependent and independent functions in glioblastoma.
