Prashant Bommi currently works at the Department of Cancer Biology, Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL. Prashant does research in neurosurgery, Clinical Trials and Oncology. Their current goal is to understand how glioblastoma (GBM) cell indoleamine 2,3 dioxygenase 1 (IDO; IDO1) increases immunosuppressive T-reg infiltration, suppresses the immune response, and decreases overall survival in mouse models and human subjects with glioblastoma. His current project, in collaboration with a chemist, is to identify a small molecule using Proteolysis Targeting Chimera technology (PROTAC) that targets and degrades IDO1 to inhibit its enzyme dependent and independent functions in glioblastoma.
