Nicolaes Hyun-Kee Min is a senior PhD student in Dr. Xi Huang’s lab at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He studies medulloblastoma, the most common malignant pediatric brain tumor, with a focus on how medulloblastoma cells sense and respond to mechanical stimuli during metastasis. He obtained his HBSc from University of Toronto, where he built a foundation for research in the laboratory of Dr. Dinesh Christendat biochemically characterizing plant metabolic enzymes. He then pursued graduate studies in Dr. Xi Huang’s lab at the Hospital for Sick Children to study pediatric brain cancer. His research interests lie in cell and tissue mechanobiology, biomedical engineering, and cancer therapeutics.
