Hello, I am Rita Monteiro, currently a PhD student specialising in Neuro-oncology at the University of Portsmouth, UK. My journey in the research world has been exciting, with my focus centred on exploring the impact of the CRH family of stress neurohormones on brain tumours proliferation and viability.
I consider myself a "Labholic" – someone who loves being in the lab and loves science! I enjoy working in challenging research settings and find immense satisfaction in continuously expanding my knowledge base. For me, each day in the lab is a new opportunity to contribute to our understanding of the complexities of brain tumours.
What sets me apart is not just my passion for research, but also my collaborative nature. I believe in the power of open discussions and the exchange of ideas. I have seen firsthand how valuable these interactions can be in propelling research forward and achieving breakthroughs.
As I continue on my research journey, I am excited to be part of a community of like-minded individuals who share the same drive and commitment to making a difference in the field of neuro-oncology, hence I am excited to be part of the SNO 2023 annual meeting. I look forward to being at the event where I will have the chance to share my experiences and insights with you, and together, we can push the boundaries of knowledge in this critical area of study.
