Geno Guerra, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar in the department of Neurological Surgery at Univeristy of California, San Francisco. He received his PhD in Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley in 2019. Under his PhD advisor, Rasmus Nielsen, Dr. Guerra worked on theoretical problems in population genetics and phylogenetics. His current work focuses on the genetics of cancer, most predominately focused on the epidemiology of gliomas. His research is broadly interested in modelling risk and survival of individuals with glioma, reference-free genetic analysis, viral interactions with cancer, polygenic risk scores, and theoretical method development.
