Paige M Bracci, PhD, MS is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Division of Cancer Epidemiology, at the University of California San Francisco. As I cancer epidemiologist, she has been involved in the design and analysis of population and clinic-based studies of cancer for nearly 25 years, with about 10 of those years studying the epidemiology of glioma. She has a particular interest in immunological and inflammatory factors that relate to earlier cancer diagnosis as well as cancer risk, development, and prognosis. Her research includes studies of molecular and genetic factors as well as clinical and modifiable behaviors and conditions that are associated with cancer susceptibility, risk and patient outcomes. New ongoing work includes research to better understand cognitive effects in patients with glioma and the use of interventions that might help those patients who are experiencing cognitive difficulties while also improving patient quality of life.
