Laurien De Roeck (MD, PhD) is a radiation-oncologist and neuroscientist at the KU Leuven, Belgium. She completed medschool at the KU Leuven in 2017. She will complete her residency at the Radiotherapy Department of the University Hospitals of Leuven in 2024. Moreover, she is a PhD research fellow since 2020, funded by Research Foundation of Flanders (Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (FWO) Vlaanderen. Her research considers the cognitive sequelae after radiotherapy in glioma patients and the link with advanced neuroimaging.
Currently, she's leading two clinical trials in neuro-oncological patients, mentored by professor Maarten Lambrecht: GLIOMA survivor trial and NARCiS trial (multicenter, longitudinal trial in Belgium), both investigating the long-term cognitive impact of radiotherapy treatment in neuro-oncological patients.
