Stella Soyka, MD is a neurology resident at the University Hospital Heidelberg and a researcher at the Venkataramani lab with a focus on intravital imaging methods and a special interest for the biology of glioma evolution. Starting as a research assistant in 2020, she dedicated her time fully to research after finishing her medical studies in 2021 and before starting her neurology residency in the beginning of 2023.
The main focus of her research is to find methods allowing to study intravital glioblastoma invasion deep within the living mouse brain. This should eventually help to better understand the mechanisms behind glioma dissimination into the whole brain via white matter tracts.
