Dr. Friedel is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Neuroscience and Neurosurgery, and a member of the Tisch Cancer Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is an expert in the field of brain tumor research. Dr. Friedel’s research team focuses on the question of how axon guidance molecules regulate the invasive migratory behavior of brain tumor cells. In addition, his laboratory is applying molecular reporters to understand in detail the physiology of brain tumor cells.
