Dr Jim Whittle, Medical Oncologist Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre & Laboratory Head WEHI, focus is on developing personalised therapies for brain cancer, through the advanced investigation of the molecular features of cancer. In 2021, Dr Whittle was appointed to Laboratory Head, co-leading the Brain Cancer Research Laboratory with Dr Sarah Best (biology lead) and Dr Saskia Freytag (bioinformatics lead) in the newly established Brain Cancer Centre at WEHI. Most recently Dr Whittle and his team launched the Brain Perioperative Program (BrainPOP), to faciliate drug development through small, well-designed studies that provide critical information on drug activity.
