My name is Brittany Schweiger and I am a third year PhD student studying at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Currently, I am studying the effect of glioblastoma on tight junction expression in the blood-brain-barrier. I have developed an in-vivo GBM model as well as a transwell in-vitro BBB model. My goal is to identify changes in the brain endothelium driven by GBM cancer stem cell growth along the blood vessels invading healthy tissue. These changes will then be exploited in targeted nanoparticles for enhanced drug delivery to the brain.
