I am Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery, Houston Methodist Research Institute and Weill Cornell Medical College. My research program is on understanding metabolic vulnerabitiles in CNS tumors patients. We safely quantiate in vivo metabolic pathways in cancer patients using carbon (13C) Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry/Imaging. We use intravenous infusion of stable (non-radioactive) isotopes of carbon (13C) enriched nutrients in cancer patients undergoing surgical removal of the tumor.
