Dr. Aboubechara received his M.D. degree from the UC Davis School of Medicine. He also received his Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience and his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from UC Davis. John Paul is currently a Resident Physician at the UC Davis Department of Neurology. His current research is under the mentorship of Dr. Orwa Aboud, wherein they are examining metabolic changes in the plasma of patients with glioblastoma with the goal of identifying tumor biomarkers, while also elucidating mechanisms of glioblastoma pathogenesis. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, running, and playing basketball.
