Dr. Celine Taglang, Associate Specialist at Dr. Viswanath Lab, Department of Radiology and biomedical imaging, UCSF.
With more than 7 years of experience in the laboratories of major R&D organizations, I used a variety of techniques in medicinal chemistry, radiochemistry and biomedical imaging. Experienced in Drug Discovery and Development, I aimed to improve approaches for de-risking pharmaceutical innovation and facilitating identification of the candidates that display the best in vivo profile. I joined Dr. Viswanath lab in August 2020. As a chemist with a strong background in labeling and imaging techniques, I have a skillset that strongly complements that of Dr. Viswanath. My experiences in the synthesis of novel HP 13C agents and in the preclinical imaging of CNS tumors, added to my expertise in deuterium labeling enable me to improve the properties of potential probes for brain tumor imaging and develop new techniques of deuterium MR spectroscopy. Finally, thanks to my experience in analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry, I contribute to GC-MS and LC-MS analyses of brain tumor metabolism.
