Anita Mahajan MD is a professor of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She serves as the medical director for particle therapy in Rochester. Before becoming a consultant at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Mahajan was on faculty at MD Anderson Cancer Center where she lead the adult CNS and pediatric radiation oncology services.
Her interests and expertise are in the management of adult patients with CNS tumors and pediatric patients requiring radiotherapy. Her efforts include the use of particle therapy, in particular proton therapy, for advanced management of these patients. Efforts to improve tumor control and to minimize acute and late toxicities are of high interest. .Dr. Mahajan has worked within within the cooperative group structure and participate in in the organization and leadership of national trials within Alliance, NRG and COG. In addition, at this time, Dr. Mahajan serves as the president of PTCOG-NA, the U.S. based particle therapy group.
