My name is Cassie Helfer and I am a 4th year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine. I'm involved in neuro-oncology research with Dr. Jacob Mandel and the neurology department at BCM. Within the field of neuro-oncology research, I'm particularly interested in the role of genetic and methylation analysis to better classify and understand CNS tumors. I am also passionate about investigating healthcare disparities and working to raise awareness regarding how these factors affect patient access to care and quality of life. I'm currently applying to residency programs in neurology and am excited to pursue further research in neuro-oncology.
