Dr. Hamza graduated from medical school in Egypt and worked as a faculty in the school of medicine, then moved to the USA after he was awarded a scholarship from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he obtained a PhD degree in Neuroscience/Pharmacology. He was trained as a Neurologist in the school of Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his clinical subspecialty fellowship as a Neuro-Oncologist in the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is a Neurology board certified by the ABPN, and Neuro-Oncology subspecialty board certified by UCNS. He joined OhioHealth in 2013 to establish the medical Neuro-Oncology program. Dr. Hamza has been – and continues to be – active in research, including publishing original peer-reviewed articles and participating in Neuro-Oncology trials (currently the PI of a number of clinical trials at Riverside Methodist Hospital).
