Biography
Dr. McClelland received his artium baccalaureus with honors in biology from Harvard College, and his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is internationally recognized for his 15-year track record of investigating disparities in healthcare access and their subsequent impact on patient outcomes. Dr. McClelland is also internationally recognized for his work on radiation-based modalities for treatment of central nervous system disease, and has authored several population-based database manuscripts examining both adult and pediatric conditions.
Dr. McClelland has won numerous national awards, including the Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Young Oncologist Travel Award from the American Radium Society, the Young Investigator Award from the American Epilepsy Society, the International Epilepsy Symposium Research Award from the Cleveland Clinic, the Cone Pevehouse Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Trainee Research Prize from the Radiological Society of North America. His work has been presented at more than 30 national and international scientific meetings including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, American Radium Society, Radiological Society of North America, Society for Neuro-Oncology, American Epilepsy Society, and the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society.
Creator of the Radiosurgery Dose Reduction for Brain Metastases on Immunotherapy (RADREMI) clinical trial, Dr. McClelland has published more than 120 articles (including 109 first-author publications) in peer-reviewed journals including JAMA Oncology, the International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, Radiotherapy and Oncology, Practical Radiation Oncology, Advances in Radiation Oncology, Journal of the American College of Radiology, Journal of Oncology Practice, Neuro-Oncology, Annals of Neurology, JAMA Neurology, Movement Disorders, Clinical Genitourinary Cancer, Neuromolecular Medicine, and the Journal of Neuro-Oncology.
