Dr. Mark C. de Gooijer is currently affiliated to the Netherlands Cancer Institute as a Senior Postdoctoral fellow. He has dedicated his career to developing therapeutic strategies for high-grade brain tumors, receiving his training in the labs of Prof. Thomas Wurdinger at the Amsterdam University Medical Center, Prof. Bakhos A. Tannous at Harvard Medical School and Dr. Olaf van Tellingen at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. He received his PhD cum laude from Utrecht University in 2019 for his thesis titled 'Mounting an attack on the glioblastoma triad: proliferation, invasion and resistance'. He is a J. William Fulbright Graduate Scholarship recipient and was awarded a UIPS silver medal for his thesis work. He currently holds several patents and grants aimed at developing novel therapeutic strategies for high-grade brain tumors.
