Sam E. Gary, B.S, is a 4th year graduate student in the NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After receiving a bachelor's degree in biology from Juniata College, he completed an IRTA fellowship at the National Human Genome Research Institute in the neurogenetics laboratory of Dr. Ellen Sidransky. His current research focuses on improving oncolytic immunovirotherapy for treatment of high-grade glioma under the mentorship of Dr. Anita B. Hjelmeland and Dr. Gregory K. Friedman.
