I am an Instructor at the Department of Neurosurgery, Houston Methodist Research Institute (HMRI). I have been associated with the frontier area of translational oncology and radiation oncology with a particular emphasis on cancer prognosis, radio/chemo-resistance, immune response, and development of combinational cancer-therapeutics. My long-term goal is to develop a multidisciplinary approach to treat solid tumors and discover potential targets for neurodegenerative diseases.
Currently, I am identifying the unique molecular mechanism for the anti-tumor response of a non-invasive therapeutic device (Oncomagnetic device) developed in our laboratory. Based on ongoing research in vivo and in vitro, Our Oncomagnetic device shows huge potential to be used as an alternative or adjuvant treatment modality for the treatment of brain tumor. I am also in the process of developing a pig glioma model which could be used to explore and validate potential treatment for clinical relevance
