Dr. Macarena de la Fuente is a neuro-oncologist who specializes in the care of patients with primary brain tumors. She completed her Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is currently the Interim Chief of the Neuro-Oncology Division in the Department of Neurology/Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of Miami.
Dr. de la Fuente conducts research in an effort to develop innovative, more effective treatments for primary brain tumors in both the upfront and recurrent settings. Her research interest focuses on IDH-mutant gliomas, specifically investigating radiographic biomarkers for these tumors. Dr. de la Fuente also has an interest in addressing disparities in the Hispanic/Latino brain tumor population.
