Daphne Haas-Kogan, MD, MBA, FASTRO, FACR, is the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital. She is the Willem and Corrie Hees Family Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Haas-Kogan received her A.B. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology magna cum laude from Harvard University and her M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed her residency in Radiation Oncology and post-doctoral fellowship in molecular neuro-oncology at UCSF in 1997. She received the Henry J. Kaiser Award for Excellence in Teaching and served as Residency Program Director and Vice-Chair for Research and Education at UCSF. Most recently, she was awarded the highest mentorship recognition at DFCI as the 2021 recipient of The Edward J. Benz, Jr. Award for Advancing the Careers of Women Faculty. Dr. Haas-Kogan is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and the Association of American Physicians. She has consistently been awarded Best/Top Doctor awards nationally and locally since 2007 and has been an annual recipient of the Castle Connolly Exceptional Woman in Medicine award since 2019. Dr. Haas-Kogan can think of no greater honor than serving the neuro-oncology community, our patients, and their families.
