Dolores Hambardzumyan is an Associate Professor with dual primary appointments in the Departments of Oncological Sciences and Neurosurgery at Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Saini. Dolores Hambardzumyan, Ph.D., MBA, is a neuroscientist with a significant focus on neuro-oncology. She researches the brain tumor microenvironment and its impact on tumor response to therapy. She is known for her work on tumor-associated macrophages both in adult and pediatric high-grade brain tumors. She has developed methods for immune profiling of brain tumors, including developing novel markers to distinguish and lineage-trace various populations of tumor-associated macrophages. She and her team demonstrated that genetic driver mutations could define the tumor microenvironment's composition and function and modify tumor response to therapy.
