Kayen Tang, BA, is a postbaccalaureate fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He received his bachelors degree in Neuroscience and Behavior at Vassar College. Shortly after graduating, he joined the Surgical Neurology Branch in Dr. Sadhana Jackson’s Developmental Therapeutics and Pharmacology (DTAP) laboratory. DTAP is interested in understanding the heterogeneity of the blood-brain barrier permeability amongst malignant central nervous system tumors. Kayen has worked on multiple projects while in the lab but focuses much of his time on a project that investigates Wnt pathway inhibitors on glioma progression and brain endothelial integrity. He utilizes a variety of in vitro and in vivo techniques to carry out his studies. Following his position at the NIH, he is hoping to earn a medical degree for a future career as a physician scientist.
