Dr Perry is a Professor of Neurology at the University of Toronto working at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital. His interests include translational clinic trials in glioma, novel drug development, and the interaction of the coagulation system with cancer. He is the elected Chair of the Canadian Brain Tumour Consortium (www.cbtc.ca), a national platform for clinical trial execution in primary brain neoplasms. He recently held the position of the Endowed Crolla Professorship in Neuro-Oncology and was Head of the Division of Neurology. He currently serves as the director of the Gord Downie Fellowship in Brain Tumour Research and is the Cancer Care Ontario Provincial Lead in CNS Cancers. Dr Perry's major contributions include the RESCUE trial establishing the role of daily metronomic temozolomide chemotherapy in recurrent GBM, the PRODIGE trial of low molecular heparin thromboprophylaxis in newly diagnosed GBM, and the CCTG-EORTC randomized trial of hypofractionated RT + TMZ which set a new standard treatment option for elderly patients with newly diagnosed GBM.
