Dr. Jaeckle is a practicing neuro-oncologist and Professor of Neurology and Oncology and director of the Neurooncology clinical trials program at Mayo Clinic Florida. He is Board Certified in Neurology and Neuro-oncology, and has served as past Chair of the Neurooncology Section of the American Academy of Neurology, Co-Chair of the NCCTG Neurooncology Committee, Chair of the SWOG Neurooncology Committee, Chair of the Bylaws Committee for Society of Neuro-oncology, and has participated as a past member of several NIH/NCI Committees and the NCI Brain Malignancies Steering Committee. He served as Director of the Neurooncology Fellowship Program MD Anderson Cancer Center, and was instrumental in development of the first Certification and Accreditation process in Neuro-oncology of the UCNS. He is currently a member of the ASCO TAPUR Molecular Tumor Board and the Mayo Clinic Molecular Tumor Board Think Tank of the Center for Individualized Medicine. Dr. Jaeckle has been Principle or co-PI, or site co-investigator for several NCI-funded Cooperative Group trials, primarily within the Alliance, NCCTG and SWOG, as well as industry sponsored and investigator initiated trials. His primary interest is clinical research involving genomically- driven targeted treatment for central nervous system neoplasms.
