Sidney Weaver is a graduate student with the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Scottsdale, Arizona. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University in biomedical science and criminal justice. There, she studied the role of GAP-43 in Alzheimer’s Disease. She went on to study small molecule inhibitors targeting epigenetic proteins in cancer as a lab technician at the University of Michigan. More recently, her graduate studies focus on investigating epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) extracellular mutations on glioma stem cell maintenance and therapeutic resistance in glioblastoma.
