My name is Leah Billingham, B.A, PhD., and I am a post-doctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Jason Miska in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Northwestern University studying the immunometabolism of myeloid cells in glioblastoma. I received my B.A in Biology with an emphasis in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Macalester College in St Paul, Minnesota. After completing my studies, I worked as a post-bacceloreate trainee performing full time research on autoinflammatory diseases in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Siegel as a part of the Intramural Research Program at the NIH. I obtained my PhD from Northwestern University, where I trained under Dr. Navdeep Chandel, studying the necessity of mitochondrial-produced ATP in NLRP3 inflammasome activation in macrophages.
