My Name is Lisa Mayr and I work as a resident in pediatric neurooncology at the Medical University of Vienna.
My main research interest focuses on identifying new therapeutic treatment options for pediatric brain tumor patients. A particular field of interest is the identification of distinct molecular changes for developing new innovative treatments in highly malignant pediatric brain tumor models established by our working group. Other fields I am interested in range from dissecting the molecular mechanisms driving the malignant phenotype of highly malignant pediatric CNS tumors, to identifying novel biomarkers for distinct tumor subgroups and the applicability of targeted therapies in these subgroups. Currently ongoing projects are focused on various high-risk brain tumors including high-grade glioma, pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, medulloblastoma and ATRT. Ongoing and recently completed projects that I would like to highlight include: Research Grant for Medical Sciences of the Mayor of Vienna (#19086), “CDK4/6 inhibitors as potential new therpeutic targets for malignant pediatric brain tumors.
