Rimas V. Lukas, MD is the Associate Chief of Neuro-Oncology at the Lou & Jean Malnati Brain Tumor Institute at the Robert H Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University. In this role he is involved in the care of patients with primary brain tumors and spinal cord tumors as well as central nervous system (CNS) metastases. He is involved in the development and management of the neuro-oncology clinical trial portfolio. In this capacity he works closely with preclinical investigators to bring concepts from the bench to the bedside. In addition he serves as Regional Ambulatory Medical Director for the Department of Neurology at Northwestern University. This role allows him oversight of outpatient clinic operations with goals of providing exceptional clinical care, integrating clinical research, and improving efficiency of care delivery across a large healthcare system. Finally, he has a strong interest in medical education in the U.S. and internationally and has conducted research in neuroscience medical education.
