Dr. Thomas Sears is a Postdoctoral Scholar at Northwestern University researching the biology of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutant glioma, and how to capitalize on this biology to develop new therapies. He works in the lab of Dr. Craig Horbinski, Professor of Neurological Surgery and Director of Neuropathology at Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Sears received his PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from University of California, Davis where he discovered that IDH mutant gliomas are more sensitive to histone deacetylase inhibitors and bromodomain inhibitors.
