Dr. Giselle López is an Assistant Professor at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She received her MD and PhD in Pathology at Duke University. She then completed anatomic pathology residency, neuropathology fellowship, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. She then returned to Duke University, where she has a clinical practice in surgical neuropathology, and runs a research laboratory focused on identifying biomarkers and new therapeutic targets for oligodendroglioma. She is the recipient of a Duke KL2 career development award and a Doris Duke Foundation Clinical Scientist Development Award. She is passionate about building pathways into science and medicine for trainees from historically excluded backgrounds, and was recently recognized as one of the American Society for Clinical Pathology's 40 Under Forty in recognition for her work on oligodendrogliomas and building pathways into STEM for trainees from diverse backgrounds.
