Myron Evans II, PhD is a Principal Investigator at Seattle Children’s Research Institute Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research. Dr. Evans is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics (Division of Hematology/Oncology) at the University of Washington, Seattle and an Affiliate Associate Member at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the Human Biology Division. Dr. Evans completed his graduate work at Duke University studying therapeutic resistance in adult breast cancer. His postdoctoral fellowships were completed at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where he studied epigenetic regulation of CNS development and pediatric solid tumor initiation.
In 2021, he opened his independent lab which centers around the field of developmental oncology studying the epigenetic regulation of central nervous system development in the post-natal mammalian brain. His lab studies how these epigenetic mechanisms become deregulated and contribute to the formation of pediatric brain tumors. His lab also identifies novel targets and designs and tests therapeutic interventions for childhood cancer patients.
