Dr Van Gool pioneered DC vaccination for GBM in Europe and treated the first patient in 2001 (J Neurosurg 2004). Since then he conducted preclinical research, translational research and clinical research, and published his results in peer-reviewed publications. The integration of individualized multimodal immunotherapy within the Standard of Care is the current focus of his work. The vaccine he developed is an approved medicinal product in Germany, and currently used in clinical practice for patients from Germany, Europe and abroad.
